The 2018 Masters: Everything You Need To Know
Golf enthusiasts around the world have been waiting for the 2018 Masters. The element of excitement is what makes the competition fun to watch.
First among all parts of the competition is a kick start for the golfers. In this part, the golfers are given guidelines to make sure they are in the right competition. The second part is where the golfers are let to prepare for their gears and undergo practices as they are also given the rules of the competition. The last part is nerve wracking as it is where the golfers prepare their mindset for the game itself.
Golf is a game where the golfers face a tough challenge of finding the right gear that could let them score. Unlike most games, golf does not need a standardized court. Every golf course is different from each other when it comes to the design. The only requirement is for the courses to have 9 to 18 holes. There are specific rules and regulations in each game and each golfers must abide these rules.
In every game, the number of strokes each golfer makes is very important. Every golfer has his own strokes when playing. Golfers edge over the other by scoring in each whole ahead of each other and the match play scoring system is used in each game.
This game was originated in Scotland sometime in the 12th century as shepherds kick the stones to small rabbit holes and those who scores first wins the game. This game mechanic is still applicable in golfing up to this day but the golfers use a club instead of simply giving the ball a kick with their foot.
As times change, more and more types of golfing is made. Here are some types of golfing that are becoming widely known:
Stroke or Medal Play
The stroke play which is known to many as the medal play is one of the most popular ones as it is used in most competitions. In the stroke or medal play, each golfer must complete all 18 holes in the course and the player the lowest total net scores when it comes to number of strokes wins.
In this type of golf competition, golfers play in teams with the same objective and the team that gets the most number of holes wins. This type is usually played in golf clubs and players in a match play follows a strict set of rules and regulations.
In this type of golfing, each player scores the balls in a hole and it will be decided which among the shots is the best one. After such, each of the player repeats the act until the competition is over. Scramble is very popular among golf enthusiasts because it is the less complicated among all the other types
In this type of golf competition, a ‘skin’ which is a bag of money is placed in each hole and the players that hit the hole gets the skin and each of them compete to score first than the rest. The word ‘skin’ comes from the actual bag of skin where the cash prize is placed.
This competition also known as the ‘last man standing’ is also very popular because of its exciting mechanics; the players in this game are first required to provide a number of strokes which they are only allowed to use within the game and during the actual game, they are only allowed to use the number of strokes they provided.
There are many more types of golf competition and in the 2018 Masters Review, these competitions will be played by golfing enthusiasts such as Iain Sharpe and other famous ones from around the world.
